The Macchiaioli - Masterpieces of a Rising Italy

The event offers an exhibition with over one hundred works by artists belonging to the Macchiaioli movement. A world whose essence tells of the values of man, of the heroic and tireless man, of his strength and courage, of his desire to leave day after day in spite of any difficulty. Independent and revolutionary spirits, warm with patriotic fervor and steadfast in affection. The Macchiaioli painted what the "real" offered to their eyes.

The exhibition presents famous masterpieces and unpublished or never seen before, by protagonists such as Silvestro Lega, Telemaco Signorini, Cristiano Banti, Giuseppe Abbati, Nino Costa, Serafino De Tivoli, Adriano Cecioni, Vincenzo Cabianca, Giovanni Fattori, Vito D'Ancona, Odoardo Borrani , Federico Zandomeneghi, Antonio Puccinelli, Giovanni Boldini, Raffaello Sernesi.
